Emily Maiwat

Hello! I’m Emily, a third-year Media Studies and Marketing student at the University of Denver with a passion for creative storytelling and design. I’m deeply inspired by the intersection of marketing and the arts, where strategy meets self-expression and human emotion. Whether I’m directing a music video, designing event graphics, or developing a social media campaign, I am passionate about using the creative process to capture authenticity and emotion.

My background in videography and photography has shaped the way I approach marketing, always with an eye for detail, and a goal of capturing meaning. I find visual storytelling to be the most impactful and it is my passion to build connections and communication in all my projects and designs. I’ve developed a particular love for working with musicians and in the past two years I have created 4 music videos with local bands, done countless photoshoots, created a Riot Grrrl documentary, and designed marketing plans and materials for a Bryce Vine show and a Jeremy Zucker show.

Throughout my time at the University of Denver, I’ve intentionally pursued a wide range of coursework in Media Studies, Marketing, Psychology, Film, and Advertising. This interdisciplinary approach has given me a valuable perspective that combines creativity, strategy, and an understanding of human behavior. Alongside this perspective, I’ve developed strong technical skills, including proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, editing, and an understanding of SEO and AI, that help me to design emotionally driven marketing materials.
